She scrambled to her knees, slipping slighting on the
wet concrete.
Her breathing was coming in short sharp spurts as she ran towards the
exit. Her eyes wide with panic as small sobs escaped with each breath.
The darkness engulfed her like a blanket, causing her to become
disorientated. She stopped for a moment to steady her breathing and find
her bearings.
“Where is it? Where the hell is it?” her eyes darted around searching
for her only chance of escape.
The exit sign glowed through the darkness, giving her renewed hope.
“Almost there.” She whispered to herself.
“You don’t really think that I would make it that easy for you?” A harsh
mocking voice echoed in her ears. Fear held her riveted to the ground.
The sound of feet shuffling along the concrete was getting closer with
each passing second.
She could hear his breathing, a long harsh grating sound. She could see
him lying on the ground, after she had managed to stab him in the leg,
before running the blade across his throat. The blood on her hands still
glistened in the green light. He had tried to kill her, but she had
turned that around, or so she thought. Invisible hands held her there,
while every muscle in her body screamed for her to run. A sharp breath
from the man behind her gave her the strength to rip herself from the
deadly arms of nothing. She ran for the door without looking back, and
grabbed the door handle. With a small crack the handle came off the door
and she was left staring in horror and surprise at the metal object in
her hand.
The man standing behind her started to laugh. With a bewildered look on
her face, she turned to face her pursuer. He was smiling at her. The
blood from his slashed throat had seeped into the collar of his shirt.
His evil looking eyes penetrating hers.
She let out a giggle and smiled.
“CUT!!” screamed the director. “Would someone fix that door handle NOW!”
Playfully punching her fellow actor on the arm, they walked back to
their chairs. Sitting down to wait until they could resume filming the
movie.
