The Haunted O.R. Melissa could feel the presence as she set up for the operation. Placing the bowls into their stands, she could almost feel that there was someone in the Operating Room, watching her every move. However she was entirely alone. “Oh you’re being silly!” Melissa said out loud to the empty room. She chided herself for letting Peter’s story she had heard earlier about this room get to her. She could still see his eyes as he began the story. “In the early 50s, a serial killer facing
death row was brought in for emergency surgery. While they were
struggling to put him under, he wouldn’t stop laughing, telling him
that his work wasn’t finished and he would never stop. With his last

died, more people have died in this O.R. than in any other part of
the hospital.” Melissa had to admit, while she didn’t believe in all that spooky stuff, being alone in the O.R. was pretty creepy after hearing that story. Shaking her head Melissa continued setting out the instruments for the operation. Focused on her work, the little beeps from the different machines faded out as her mind went through a checklist. Bowls, Sponges, Dressings, Scalp….. “Ha ha ha ha ha.” The laughter sounded as if it came from just over her shoulder. Turning quickly, Melissa saw her hopes that Peter or one of the others were playing a prank fade quickly. The room was empty and she was still alone. “Ha ha ha ha ha.” The laughter came again, though it sounded
like it was coming from everywhere. “Ha ha ha ha ha.” It was so loud. “Ha ha ha ha ha.” It seemed to vibrate off the walls. Ha ha ha ha ha.” This time it came softly from behind her. Melissa’s insides turned cold and her eyes widened as she felt hot breath on the back of her neck. Turning slowly around, Melissa found herself looking into a pair of insanity filled, bloodshot eyes. The top lip curled in a grin as the spirit of the serial killer laughed again. “Ha ha ha ha ha.” Peter and the others were returning to the O.R.
when Melissa’s terrified scream echoed up the hallway. Running into
the room, they found Melissa lying on the floor. “Ha ha ha ha ha!” The end
